Agentic AI systems represent a shift from AI as a tool that assists human decision-makers to AI as an actor. When AI influences or executes decisions, foundational human rights questions arise.
Join us for a side event examining the implications of agentic AI for accountability, liability and access to remedy worldwide, bringing senior justice leaders and judges across regions into the global conversation on AI governance. This event aims to:
- Bring senior justice leaders and judges from different regions into the global conversation on governing AI, especially as it becomes increasingly agentic;
- Examine jurisprudence emerging from different jurisdictions related to AI governance, including its impacts on human rights, rule of law, and access to remedy;
- Explore obligations under international human rights law, including questions of liability involving agentic AI;
- Understand capacity development needs across the wider justice sector on the technical and human rights dimensions of agentic AI.

This panel will bring together senior justice leaders and judges to explore emerging jurisprudence on the governance of AI, including AI agents, impacts of AI on children, and how existing international human rights law and corresponding national laws are interpreted vis a vis AI. It will draw on data and evidence, as it emerges, on the implications for emerging AI technology on human rights protections, and the challenges of the justice sector to respond.(Moderator) H.E.
